About me
I’m a (somewhat) self-taught, emerging after 50 artist.  After completing a BA in Cinematography in the early 90’s, self doubt about my ability as an artist led me to retreat into the comfort of a corporate career, which benefitted my pocketbook but not my soul.
Then my worst professional nightmare came true.  In my late 40’s, I lost my job and was unemployed for an extended period of time.  I returned to the camera in 2019 and began painting for the first time in 2022.  What started as a healthy distraction evolved into a recommitment to myself as an artist.
So here I am, trying to figure it out.  What kind of art, what medium, what subjects don’t really matter to me.  Some pieces turn out awesome, some not so much.  But creating brings me joy; my garage studio is my refuge and renewal after another day spent slogging through Corporate America.  And when my neighbor said “that’s awesome!  It would look great over my couch”, I knew I was a true artist after all :)

About my work
I work across a number of mediums and styles as I am still exploring and defining my personal style.  Regardless of method, medium, or subject, my best work comes when I just let it flow, not hew to a preconceived notion of what I want to happen.
